Abstract: Consolidated composite solid sorbents are prospective for its high cycle sorption quantities and stable sorption performances. The chemisorption kinetics of composite sorbents of halides is analyzed by isobaric sorption performance and sorption rate. For single salt the apparent hysteresis phenomena is found, and for desorption process it is found that the reaction heat influences the desorption performance seriously. The multi-salt could reduce the hysteresis phenomena by multi-step reaction processes. The consolidated composite sorbents of halides with the matrix of expanded natural graphite treated with sulfuric acid (ENG-TSA) is applied for the freezing system for trucks. Experimental results show that the highest refrigeration power is over than 3 kW at the evaporating temperature of -15oC when the exhaust gas of the truck is 200~250oC and the environmental temperature is 25oC. Sorption reactor for SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) for reduction of NOx is studied, and the results show that the cost of solid sorption SCR decreases 72% and the operation cycle increases 1.78 times if compared with urea SCR.
